Lifelines are a permanent fall arrest system that allows workers to move safely on horizontal or inclined paths, preventing falls from heights. They are made up of a series of fixed anchors installed on the structure and a cord or wire rope that runs along them, to which workers attach themselves using snap hooks or sliding trolleys.

How do lifelines work?

Lifelines offer continuous protection during movement:

1. Anchors: Solid and resistant fixing points are installed on the structure at regular intervals, according to current regulations.
2. Cord or wire rope: The flexible element that connects the anchors, sliding along them. It can be made of steel, Kevlar or other high-strength materials.
3. Sliding devices: Sliding trolleys or special carabiners allow workers to hook on and move along the lifeline.
